TD history question: did admins ever enact something so unpopular, it was repealed?

Did the mods ever do an update that was met with so much dissatisfaction from users and/or caused new problems unplanned for, that they ultimately got rid of the change?

Embedded videos were briefly a thing, as was an option to share a thread to Facebook.

chicagodroppings was the TD Area 51 for testing these type of things.

The forced abortions rule was too difficult to enforce without racism accusations being thrown around

ive been banned about 50 to 100 times and the decisions have always been eventually appealed

The entire website was shuttered after Landon Collins announced on live TV he wasn't going to LSU.

Chicken cooled down and reopened the website again.

Why? Other sites seem to do just fine with it. We already embed images, its basically the same except you press to play.
