TD history question: did admins ever enact something so unpopular, it was repealed?

Did the mods ever do an update that was met with so much dissatisfaction from users and/or caused new problems unplanned for, that they ultimately got rid of the change?

The embedded video update pretty much broke the website for its short run.

Embedded videos were briefly a thing, as was an option to share a thread to Facebook.

The forced abortions rule was too difficult to enforce without racism accusations being thrown around

The entire website was shuttered after Landon Collins announced on live TV he wasn't going to LSU.
Chicken cooled down and reopened the website again.

Why? Other sites seem to do just fine with it. We already embed images, its basically the same except you press to play.

Yeah. There are periodic reinstatement threads.

Larry Leo was once a poster who made threads.
I got a private message that said “Stay out of Larry Leo threads if you have nothing to offer, thanks....”

I bet it's In that range or not far off
There was one year it was October and I was averaging a ban a month that year.
