It is not a bad parking problem, it is a financial counting problem. How do you over enroll by 3000 students in 2024 after you over enrolled by 1200 the year before. How do you keep building massive structure with no parking and then charge families a parking fee on top of all the other fees and then cry poor mouth to the legislature?
LSU keeps using tax dollars to expand but does not upgrade the roads (your city taxes and gas taxes pay for that) and put zero into parking?

They can. That's part of the problem. You have an apt of 3 friends and they may only buy one pass, share it or drive together.

When I lived off campus, I would schedule my classes to be one after another as best as possible and use whatever break that may come from scheduling to eat something or study on campus if I had to kill an hour.
Arrive early to get a spot and stay on campus through the last class. It's not hard after the first week.

This was known when I started at LSU back in 2011. Instead of bitching and complaining, I planned ahead and rented at a condo complex that was on the Tiger Trails route, rode the bus every day and saved money on parking passes to boot.
Only one semester I needed to park on campus because I had a 7:30am class - and surprise surprise there was no shortage of parking spots available at 7:15am. Trying to park on campus between 9-10am is a fool's errand, always has been.

All of those are in smaller towns or areas with plenty of space to grow.
As said already, there also could be parking spots in the further lots and the students are just fricking lazy or late and won't walk.

And during Covid, when the parking lots were a third full, they would write parking tickets. It’s like they want you to hate the school you go to. Also love how LSU deletes your school email 4 semesters after you graduate so it’s harder to access the school material you paid tuition for 4 years for.

Why has there been such wailing and gnashing of teeth over the traffic and parking this semester?
