As I've posted about before, the perception that crime isn't punished in Baton Rouge simply isn't reflective of reality. Now, that doesn't mean that the toughest of the tough on crime bunch would be happy if they sat in court all day, but I think the average person would find the experience enlightening. The perception that crime isn't punished comes from the heavily publicized "exceptions" to that rule, as the average person has zero information about the literal thousands upon thousands of criminal cases prosecuted in the 19th JDC every year. And while there is absolutely the occasional frick up, the majority of those "exceptions" happen because of victim and/or witness issues. When I did criminal defense work, there was little that made my life more difficult than an active and engaged "good" victim. My client could confess on video, and that case was easier to resolve by comparison if the victim/witnesses were absent, apathetic, or just horribly problematic on their own.
So with that said, I have to think a dozen or so pissed off residents of Tara are likely to be very, very engaged and interested and individually above reproach. That's bad news for those kids, assuming BRPD can put a case together against the masked up ones.

Do you think they can’t get in if you lock the door
In high crime areas a lot of people leave their doors open so criminals won’t break the window

Ive read hundreds of rap sheets from EBR and it isnt the exceptions who basically skate. 25 arrests and a total of 4-5 years prison time. Thats not unusual.

25 arrests for penny ante misdemeanors and low level felonies, or 25 serious arrests? And are you counting time served prior to case resolution?
Because I've represented thousands of criminal defendants in EBR and watched the case progressions of tens of thousands more, and guys with dozens of serious arrests serve far, far more than "a total of 4-5 years prison time". In fact, guys generally never make it to having that many serious arrests, because they end up doing serious time before they get the chance.
