ahh yes, can’t have a crime thread without a little victim blaming.

Joe Biden and the left have warned us for years now, and we refuse to listen.
White people, this is your problem and you need to fix this. White supremacy hurts us all.

No. We occasionally have someone caught on camera walking around trying to pop door handles, but this kind of thing is extremely rare, thus the quick BRPD response and news coverage.

I'd be willing to bet they have at least 5 prior arrests for xharges that were dropped or pled down to almoat nothing.
I obviously can't speak to that, but...

Absolutely nothing will happen to these guys if they are caught besides a couple inconvenient court dates.
I would be willing to bet that this is quite wrong. Assuming they are caught (and they likely wouldn't be if dipshit in the wifebeater didn't miss the mask memo), this one is going to sting.

I’m actually surprised they weren’t caught. There was a BRPD pursuit and vehicles left behind. Neighborhood also has (non Flock) plate readers & cameras that are connected with BRPD command center.

yeah!
30 days in jail
And 6 months of probation.
That’ll teach ‘em.

What did the thugs steal out of your car that time you left it unlocked?

There has been some mildly conflicting information, but as best as I can tell, BRPD chased them on foot (they kept running between/behind houses and hiding) and eventually made it back to vehicles they either had parked, had driven into the neighborhood afterwards, or both. And while that seems a bit bumbled, it's not like BRPD knew which random arse cars parked in the neighborhood belonged to them when they responded. I'm inclined to give BRPD credit for getting out there within about 15 minutes at around 4:30am for a "non-violent" call out.

Assuming they are arrested, you have my word that I'll keep track of the case and bump this thread with the resolution, no matter what it is

Assuming they are convicted felons, and BRPD is able to catch them with guns, how much time, realistically do you believe they will receive?

I thought that was the whole point of the live feed to the command center. Call comes in, vehicle activity is monitored, BOLO issued.
2-5am on a Sunday might see 10 cars total enter/exit.

Too bad what’s happened to Baton Rouge. The infestation needs to stop.

BRPD seek suspects
There’s not enough cops on BRPD period. That’s the first problem. The second problem is the new ones they’re training and hiring are abysmal. The best ones they got are beating down the door to GTFO. The new ones are probably busy doing nothing. It’s a pretty bad situation. If the shite ever really hit the fan in BR, you’re cooked.
So sure. They’re seeking suspects. They’re working reeeeeeeeal hard. I promise you.

In my experience, that's a bit of a wide range based on their actual rap.
If it's one of the guys not conspicuously brandishing a firearm, but they have one relatively minor felony conviction, I could see something like a Burglary plea, 12 years DOC, all but 2-3 suspended.
If that dipshit pointing what looks like a machine pistol has a mild to moderate violent rap, I would project something like a Felon in Possession plea, dismiss the Burglaries, 7-12 years DOC. And it could escalate from there if he's had multiple "near misses" that BRPD couldn't prove but thought he was involved in.
It's hard to pin something specific down for a case like this. But with all of that said, I don't see any of them getting off on a misdemeanor or straight felony probation unless there's someone who clearly didn't have a weapon and has little to no rap. Anyone clearly brandishing a firearm with a bad rap is taking a lick.
With one giant caveat: the ADA will need to be able to prove their case. If all they have is the word of the one dipshit not wearing the mask, they may end up having to firesale the case. But if BRPD's investigation turns up more than that, they have problems.
