Just take the money you’re going to spend on this, pile it up in your driveway and light it on fire.

I have friends obsessed with Disney. They have brought their 3yr old five times already. I think they are nuts. Don’t do it.

More expensive that time of year. Plus the hottest time of the year. The foreigners’ BO will be kicking big time in July. Take advantage of the fast passes.

Opressive heat, humidity and crowds of people who don't know how to walk in a straight line. If you decide to go just be smart about it. Take breaks, stay cool and hydrated and don't get caught up in having to do every thing. Good luck. Or better yet...take everyone's advice and get to the beach instead.

or the money you’ll spend on Disney you can find a lovely mountain resort and take your kids hiking and climbing

Yeah that’s what the kids will love.

I've been a number of times in July. It's no worse than other times of the year if you plan right.

Stay on site, you'll need that mid day siesta or some time at the pool.

Be smart with your fast passes, and make reservations.

Piece of cake.

Have you ever been to Orlando in July? Here’s a taste of our weather in July

6:30am - 3:30pm
Tempatures climb from 80 to the mid nineties almost as soon as the sun is up with about 90% relative humidity

3:30pm-5:00pm
Daily afternoon thunderstorm - but at least it’ll mitigate the heat for an hour or so

5pm-9pm
Back to high humidity and once the sun and heat come back and evaporate the rain, it’s pretty much a free sauna

At this point you may be thinking, “but it’s fairly close to ocean, there must be a sea breeze” and sure there is but it’s not what you think. You know how the heat from your oven escapes and blasts you in the face when you open it? That’s what our “sea breeze” feels like in the summer.

If you still decide that this is a good idea make sure your family is drinking several gallons of water a day and know the early symptoms of heat exhaustion because it will happen to at least one of you.

There is a positive though, if you take your family to Disney in July they’ll probably never want to go back and then you can use that money on much better vacations elsewhere.

Dude, have you ever gone down alpine slides?

Swam in a waterfall? Jumped off into a clear pool?

How is that not better than standing in a line in the sweltering heat for a 2 minute ride?

Universal is not the place for an 8 year old. They can’t ride on half the rides in the park

I'm all for tropical heat and tropical rain.

However, I'd rather experience that at a place in the Caribbean, not at Disney. And chances are, you can go to the Caribbean for cheaper.

Provided you stay hydrated enough to use the restroom, enjoy wading through the lobster red English visitors, clad in wifebeaters and socks and sandals, standing by the bathroom entrance, hotboxing a cig.

If you are able, the best time to go is between Thanksgiving and Christmas. The weather is great, the park is decorated for the holidays, and it’s typically not too crowded.

Keep your cash or card handy so that you can pay a case price for 1 bottle of water when you, or someone in your party almost passes out from the heat.

Every food stand/restaurant in Disney will give you free ice water, stupid to ever pay 4.50 for a bottle of Dasani

And all the people saying have fun waiting in lines just suck at ride and fast pass management. You shouldn’t have to wait in any lines if you do it right

Are you doing any of the water parks at Universal or Disney? If not, I would do 3 days at Disney and 2 at Universal because there is more to do at Disney.

Toy Story Land opens at the end of June at Disney's Hollywood Studios, so that park will be extremely busy in July.

Were are you staying at Universal because only Hard Rock, Portofino, and Royal Pacific offer express passes.

I also will be at DW in july.... not my choosing, parents are taking the whole family and footing the bill and this was the only time we could all get it worked out for everybody. no matters here, I've been wanting to go for years, so I'm actually pretty excited about it, well as much as a grown man can be i suppose

You will be fine in the heat.... Its your kid who will not know how to handle it and they will become completely miserable and needy. They will whine & cry about everything. This will frustrate you and you will become completely Then, your wife will get on your last nerve until you finally agree to go back to the room. While in the room, no matter what property your at... you can not control the air conditioning. It is on a preset controlled by the resort. It wont be cold enough. Hours will feel like days

Do that spin-off in the travel board. There are some posters with great experience.
