But we control the actual airfield.
Does anyone, anyone at all find a problem with the freaking 82nd being completely surrounded by the enemy? Are you kidding me?? We are going to hand the taliban another propaganda tool?

How does the 82nd's IRF being surrounded prevent them from accomplishing their mission? By definition they were going to be surrounded from the second they were wheels up from Bragg.
I remember being surrounded by PDF at the Torrijos airport but it didn't prevent us from imposing our will and accomplishing the mission.
