re: Taken to the ER, get cleared, and have to go back to the ER because they got it wrong

I said this person certainly doesn’t want a broken clavicle and it affects a huge milestone this person has been working toward for months. That’s a huge emotional toll. Why would that person WANT a broken bone? That was our discussion.
So it's the ER doc's fault they wrecked and maybe broke their clavicle?

My uncle's wife is on a radiology team. They have people on call that look at images for several hospitals. I believe the images are uploaded to a central server, and the radiologist on call logs on to view it (haven't asked). If it was a head injury, you'd think a radiologist would've checked it out

And that's just a half tri. If they ain't in shape by now, they ain't/weren't gonna be.

This is what my experience has been going to urgent care or ERs. Images are sent to an offsite radiologist who responds fairly quickly. I was surprised to hear that this place didn’t have one who could look at it today.

Really, cause I've done tri's...and finished. Had an Orbea Orca. Red, black and white. Badass bike. But what do I know?
Someone think their special for doing a half tri? GTFO.

This break basically means that all the training this person has done over the last 6 months is useless. Won’t be able to do the Waco Half Ironman at the end of October.

These people flooded. It’s certainly not the worst thing they faced...
Just an update for those who care. CT scan went down to pelvis. They found an ovarian cyst unrelated to the crash... and this ER wanted to do their own XRay. The clavicle has multiple fractures. Amazing the first ER Doc missed them all.

That's why I say half tri. Dumbass. I was specifying after you said they were training for a "triathlon". Then mentioned the distances. Full tri? Big deal. Half tri and less? Not so much. Just for the record, I never did a full. I don't have time for that shite.
But you've still given no proof that the second opinion was correct, he/she may be fine. If it was missed? Outcome no different, and it's often a nondisplaced fracture in the medial third of the clavicle that gets missed as there's a tendency to look at the middle third and lateral third more closely.
ETA...it's the OT expect a hard time. Sorry for your friend's injuries. From the sound of it, she received an inadequate initial eval considering the later description of the injury you gave. Good luck to her.
And get some thicker skin.

Bet that first ER expects full payment for the misdiagnosis...
And they shouldn't? Something tells me tomorrow morning when you neglect to make the coffee at the Circle K you work at that your answer will undoubtedly be "I got my 8 for the day..." and expect your due. Why wouldn't a DR? And before you go bitching about the money DR's make remember that capitalism is the Darwinian version of systems and this society doesn't place much value on whatever it is you do to have that mentality towards the dude you pay to keep you breathing....
Oh and before it's mentioned, I'm not a DR. I'm a salesman I do my job many times and don't get paid bc someone else did theirs better. But no one pays me to keep them alive and healthy. Thankfully, I'm good enough to abide by the most important of credos which is never go low bidder on my Lawyer, my Dr, or my kid's education. But should any of them be wrong ever I still haven't gotten a refund. PTL

She will get the full bill. For both visits. Hospitals don’t care. Someone has to pay for ER misuse and for those who won’t.

Not at all, I think I began to confuse while I attempted to insult you which I shouldn't have bc it took away from my point. My point is I thing it is hilarious when I see people complain about something their Dr did or didn't do and then throw out the "I ain't paying him nothing" when the reality is we are asking another human being to prolong our life or even prevent our immediate death for one reason and one reason only, because we can't do it ourselves bc if we could we would. Then people get all uppity about Drs making a mistake like they get paid so much because their not supposed to make mistakes and thats not why they get paid so much. They get paid so much because you can't do their job. So tough shite, quit complaining about someone getting paid for being wrong sometimes or learn how to do their job yourself.

I don’t think anyone on this board could give less of a shite about your medical issues
