Taken to the ER, get cleared, and have to go back to the ER because they got it wrong

Update:
The first ER won't even file a claim and they have initiated their own internal investigation as to why the ED missed something so obvious. Hospital officials were shown the original x-ray, the CT scan, and the x-ray at the ortho. All showed two displaced fractures to the same clavicle. Surgery tomorrow with screws and plates required.
What if it’s two different ERs?
Asking for a friend.
Full story:
Wreck. Ambulance takes person to ER. Only an X Ray. Cleared with no issues other than bruises and scratches. Given pain med script. Go home and continue to feel faint with a lot of pain. Decide to go to local ER and they find a broken bone. Urine and blood tests pending.
Bet that first ER expects full payment for the misdiagnosis...

shite happens, they were soooo worried about my bleeding from the ear(thought it was brain I think), turned out it was the ear that I layed waste on.
Course, they missed my broken collar bone, it is what it is.

Rub dirt on it.
Pro tip- don’t eat the dirt

It's an opinion, not a guarantee.

Clavicle. I’m not the person injured.

Well, when they went to the ER did they point to their shoulder and say I hurt right here?

This does sound like her with her laundry list of medical problems that she expects the ER doc to take care of.

Yes. That was the main focal point of the visit on top of checking for concussion. Doc specifically said it wasn’t broken. The person went home in a sling.

So it sounds like they treated it as a possible nondisplaced occult fracture and put it in a sling which is appropriate.
But by all means call Morris Bart and raise insurance premiums for everybody

You realize the treatment for a broken clavicle is a sling right? Unless its really displaced.

What was the time between the two visits?

Keep us posted on the urine and blood tests. I can’t wait.

True. And fair point.
Maybe if that’s all that they missed, this is an overreaction. But the local ER seems to think there may be internal issues as well. Either bleeding or kidneys. Hence more tests. Concussion as been ruled out.

“Why do I have to wait so long in the ED?”
“Why don’t they pan-scan everyone for everything?”
“Why is my ER bill so high?”
Pick your poison.
