before the country can get past the Covid crisis. Spinoff from the Washington farmer thread.

Would be great if I were wrong, but I have about concluded that this is true. This thing is so contagious there is no stopping or containing it. Hiding at home another week, month, whatever won't do it. Luckily it is becoming clearer by the day that for most people it is nothing and that the true fatality rate is very, very low.

that's always been the case (without a vaccine)

we cannot stop the spread and the only variable we can somewhat control is how long that spread takes to infect the majority of the population

I can’t speak for the rest of the country but I honestly quit worrying about Corona two weeks ago. It clearly affects/kills only those with compromised health. Those people need to take precautions. The rest of the planet needs to get on with life.

We're still Homo Sapiens so yes, 20,000 years of experience tells us that is the only outcome there is.

Now that they have confirmed this has been here for a lot longer than they thought, I think it’s possible it went through my family

My 2 year old had a slight fever for 1-2 days, and a cough that hung around for 2-3 weeks

The truth of a that most of us will get infected over time, yes. The protective measures will work for some of us and not work for others and the virus isn’t going away.

Either just saying false to mess with folks or someone who has no knowledge of viruses of this type

Most contagious illnesses either pass me up, or they’re mild enough that I don’t know I had them.

This virus will reach some saturation percentage in the population, but it won’t be 100%.

We will likely be beyond the crisis point before most contract the virus.

Shelter at home orders... Significant threat of medical care being over run

I guess you could ask op what he meant. That's what I think of as "crisis."
