Not always. I’ve seen some gorgeous women with ugly kids.

Demi Moore and Bruce Willis’s daughters.

I have also seen average looking parents have good looking kids including one couple with the son looking more like the mom and the daughter more like the father from early on to post college.

Mine looks nothing like her mom. She has been told her dad (who she has never met) has a sister that looks like her.

My daughters look like me with just enough of their mom to cancel our the ugly.

Close? Probably.
Unaviodable? Definitely not.

There is randomness as to what is inherited, but if you marry a dime with a mother that was never more than a 2 cent piece, you can expect to be snow skiing uphill on this one when your wife gets past her best by date.

And I'm starting to think mentally with my wife too.

You forget that a woman gets an X and half her genes from her dad’s side

My sisters definitely take after our paternal dago side much more than my mother's.

Mostly true.

I have seen where an ugly father and an ugly mother had a beautiful daughter. I guess the ugly genes cancelled each other out.

False. A woman gets genes from both sides of her parentage. So some women have the genetic possibility of looking like their moms, others don’t. Then there are lifestyle choices, primarily being fit or fat. Then secondary things like getting too much sun.

My wife had one sister. The sister had no chance of looking like her mom - just different genes entirely. My wife could look exactly like her mom, but my wife is fit and her mom just wasn’t.

Then my wife has three daughters. None have any chance of looking like their mom. Two are also very fit, but they just don’t resemble her. Then the other looks like my mom’s family.

My daughter is 5'7 while my wife is 5'3. My daughter's facial features are like mine with, as someone stated in another post, just enough of her mother to wash out my ugly. She's won quite a few beauty pageant's over the years and people would come up to her and tell her how beautiful she is and I reply "it's because she looks like her daddy". My wife sorta, kinda is built like her mom which isn't a bad thing. She looks nothing like her in the face. In fact, I don't know where in the hell she got her looks, because she doesn't look like anyone in her family.

I have never thought I resembled my mom, and always thought I resembled my dad's side more. But she had light hair, blue eyes, fair skin. I had brown eyes and hair and tan super easy. Was a few inches taller and leaner, though she was very fit when she was an athlete so now that I'm middle age (yuck) I'm making sure to stay on top of my health and fitness, so I don't gain weight like she did. But she stopped taking care of herself.

My sister was the spitting image of my mother when she (sister) was younger but as she got older kinda moreso resembles my dad’s mother and sister(aunt).

It's the most accurate judge

More than anything it's an excellent reflection on metabolism and lifestyle choices.

A lot of those 280 lb Karen's running around were smoke shows when they were 17

My sister favors our maternal grandmother. First wife is spitting image of her mother. Current wife and her 2 sisters all got their father’s Arian blonde hair and blue eyes. Facial wise, one sister looks exactly like MIL and my wife somewhat favors her, both have here slim build. Other sister is a little plump, but she likes to eat out a lot and she knows it. She was actually commenting on her figure while fighting cancer recently and bitching because she gained a lot back after treatments stopped. “Your cancer is gone! That’s awesome!” “But look at me, I’m getting fat again” as she crams another fried shrimp in her mouth.

False!

Too many variables in genetics to assume such.
My wife has two sisters. My wife has an olive complexion, like her dad, while her sisters are light skinned like their mother.
