Very true

I've outlived my Mother by eight years so far.

In the case of my first wife, shockingly accurate and true. They are almost spitting images of each other, and that is not good. Dumpy, plumpy, mousy gray and pasty cankles. Ugh.
Not true of my second wife. She is still gorgeous at 54 but her mom is a bridge troll.

My wife looks like her mother, but her sister took after her dad

Does she look like her dad?

I look nothing like my mother
Unfortunately, I look like my dad
Luckily my beard isn’t graying yet

I used to think it was complete bull, but I have seen way too many cases over the years to discount it.

There is a very high correlation. It isn't a lock, but I would run from women with ugly mothers.

My wife (no pics) is 5'9" and the MIL was 5'1". No physical or facial resemblance, either.

Hopefully not too much.

My mom looks like Curly from The Three Stooges.

Epigenetics start in the womb.
Of the grandmother.
Seriously.
But it’s more lifestyle choices than anything. Some things like wrinkles or hair changes will be genetic.

My first wife resembled her dad more than her mom.
My second wife is looking more and more like her mom each year.

My dad always said this. I think there’s some truth to it but not a 100% fact

If middle age mom is fat, the 20 year old fine arse daughter will likely end up the same.
From the ex's I have run into over the years, it's generally true.

As they say in the deep woods . . . .
Look hard at momma’s ankles before you marry that gal.

False. Half of them take after their fathers.
