You guys need to step back from the ledge....This is so stirred up over something that, SO FAR, will not be much if any worse than last years flu. Yes, the hospitals are crazy busy with scared people with a cough or SOB. No, the death rate is not out of hand locally , and especially not Nationally.

Cheers to being younger, fatter, and most importantly - not letting grandma live with us! (oh, and not being nearly as populous)

The death numbers arent real. Ive said this from the beginning. They are lumping people in that died with covid 19, not from covid 19.

Even doctors are saying how absurd it is. usually would say what the actual cause of death was, like cardiac arrest. But with the reporting for this, its just Covid.

I'm not following. Wasn't the question in the OP whether LA would have 1000 deaths by April 11? The LDH LA death number was posed today at 702 - 2 days before April 11. Doesn't it seem plausible that in two days it really won't be that far off? What am I missing here?

We'd have to have our worst 2 (by a factor of 2) days back-to-back to hit that number.

Vegas is dropping their over/under to 800 due to too much action on the under.

That would be one hell of a spike to get 298 deaths in two days when the highest single-day total so far is only 70.

I'm glad I was wrong about this one.

there is no reason to think we will have 100+ deaths the next 2 days

False. Covid alone is hardly problematic. Covid alone, Covid with co-morbid conditions, presumptive COVID, and COVID Symptoms adjacent to an unrelated cause of death get counted as a COVID death.

I don't wanna jinx this thing, but so far with only 2 days to go, we may not even hit 800.

When they count every death as covid related, then true.

If they'd go back and clean up all the deaths to strictly covid, then not a chance as we wouldnt be nearly this high.

Louisiana had 755 COVID-19 related deaths through April 10, 2020.

So who all was right for under 1000?
Who all was wrong?

I’d compile a list if I was on a pc.

Todays the day people....Under looking good, maybe 850ish in the end.

Curious how everybody feels about their picks: There were some strong NO WAY's and some strong OVER picks as well.

Not judging wither way, but 10 days later feeling any different about this whole thing?
