The man went on two vacations a year and spent his entire life talking scripture on the TV. Where is all this money you claimed he has funneled?

How about that ministry impact on local community? They employ like 500 people. One of the largest TV production centers in the State. They run a private Christian school that costs well below market price.

This was a good man and family, that love the Lord. Some of yall should be ashamed.

SO Walmart heirs use the exact same language to defend their living lives that Kings could not have imagined and the fact that their employees are being trained, at work, on how to go about getting on the dole so they can make the Walmart heirs even wealthier. That is not admirable, that is disgusting.

As far as the local community impact they are the collectors of a worldwide ignorance tax....the wealth was extracted out of the poorest communities worldwide and the miniscule number of people in the local area reaped the benefits. They too should be ashamed of themselves for aiding and abating.

As far as the school goes it is ranked 118th of 123 STEM schools in the state LOL. That took about 90 seconds to find. Not worth much if anything if the college acceptance rate is considered, especially relative to the colleges that students were accepted at. This is so of most similar scam christian schools by the way....

I totally disagree with what he did. However, your statement is quite harsh and hope you never need forgiveness.

Extremely wealthy priests/pastors/etc., that became wealthy because of their position in the church, should be publicly shamed and their congregations should force them out. It is against the very book they teach. Walk the walk, if you're going to talk the talk.

Honestly he did a service separating these credulous idiots from their money. frick em. If they were stupid enough to fall for this Chaucerian fraud I have no sympathy for them.

I agree wholeheartedly and admire Swaggart for his ability to separate idiots from their cash as a business model. To pretend like he was some sort of decent human being considering what he did for a living is incredibly moronic.

Relax, man, it’s just a song, one of Zakk’s first rippers. Ozzy’s last performance with Black Sabbath is this weekend in Birmingham. Huge show, tremendous lineup.

I’d guess Donnie.
That's what I've heard from members in the inner circle.

OTOH, I talked for about an hour with a musician who played behind Swaggart from before the fall until recently. That dude's perspective circa 2019 was that the place would shut down not long after Jimmy died.

Completely agree. It really is absurd.

They shouldn't have to live in an outhouse but they should absolutely be living a modest lifestyle. If they have enough money to afford a mega million dollar mansion as a pastor then you should encourage your congregation to give less or give to other causes instead but of course that would never happen

Now I'll admit the guy could play the hell out of a piano, but he sang about as good as I do- and I can't sing. At all.

I guess it boils down to whatever makes people happy. He did indeed make a lot of earnings from his recording sales.

I posted this in the thread when he was sick but I am going to post it again because I think it is important not because of anything to do with me because who gives a shite about that but because of what Jimmy Swaggart meant to a lot of people that I think few people understand.

I was not raised a Christian. Did not grow up knowing Jesus at all. I was going to LSU and at a stage in my life where I was interested in Christianity and starting to try to learn about it. As we all know living in Baton Rouge you spend a lot of time sitting in traffic. I would flip around on the radio back then and I would find myself on Son Life Radio often and listen to the music and then Jimmy and some of the other guys would preach. Very entertaining preaching style that would make you want to listen. So over the years, sitting in traffic, listening to his radio station, it slowly did a work in my soul. I really began to know Jesus through sitting in traffic listening to Jimmy Swaggart on the radio and it has meant everything to me in my life. I don’t think I would have had the courage to have my first kid without the love and peace of Christ that listening to Jimmy Swaggart’s radio station built up in me. Obviously, it’s not Jimmy Swaggart the flawed person, but Jesus Christ who I came to know because of his ministry.

You can make fun of Jimmy swaggart or hate him for his faults. He had plenty and he did harm Christianity in a sense because of his faults and perceived hypocrisy and that is legitimate to point out. But I love the man. He’ll never meet me and he changed my life. I am just one guy. I am sure there are literally hundreds of thousands or millions of people with a similar experience as I had. Jimmy Swaggart was a great man and one of the great soldiers of Christ of this generation.

Pastors and politicians. Both crooks that live off of the grift.

Only difference is politicians will steal it from you, while pastors will have stupid people willingly give it to them.
