Hate to break it to y’all, the world has more than two existences. One can be “liberal”, perhaps in the more classical sense and not the “40 year old never left Louisiana, petrochemical employed, trump voter” perspective of a liberal.
I voted for prop b to reinstate the ban. I own a business. I pay taxes. I have a family. I own property. I own a gun. I voted for Biden. I hate cancel culture and dramatic responses to “politically incorrect” language.
You don’t own some of those ideas because you vote republican. It’s more complicated than 2 perspectives.
Austin’s largest economic drivers would be classified as “liberal” yet here we are - repealing something that makes no sense and protecting our economy.
Rant against this all you want but try to be a bit more nuanced than some bullshite line you hear from your cousins and friends that are just as fat as you that live in the same type of house you do in the same type of subdivision you do.

Dude voted for Biden and for the homeless camps in Austin but thinks he’s a special liberal who isn’t really like the others.

Yeah, you don't sound like a classical liberal. And I'll challenge you to a push-up contest any day, soy-swiller

I wish all the section 8, homeless camps, rioting, etc would only occur in Democratic politician neighborhoods. Guarantee you there'd be a change in ideology.
Is this sarcasm? Republican voters are overwhelmingly rural and suburban, everything you listed is overwhelmingly urban.
You literally could not have written a more backward take if you tried.
Umm, there have been countless examples if Section 8 housing popping up in decent suburban areas, largely Republican, that have brought the whole area down.
When you have 7 or 8 100 to 200 home neighborhoods of $300k level type homes all going to the neighborhood schools and stores infiltrated by multiple 500 unit section 8 apartments, it literally changes the entire culture of the community from the schools to the stores around.

Wow. Even with all the California transplants. May show that people leaving California in droves are at least partially leaving because they’re recognize the BS policies that ruined California.

They left Cali to get away from that shite.
Exactly. Everyone assumes that all Cali transplants in Texas are liberal. Not always true.

I feel this this is an attempt to say I’m a concerned moderate Democrat but still vote Dem.

The concerned moderate Dem...still votes lockstep with the radical prog Dems.

Camping is a human right. Public spaces are PUBLIC. Anyone should be able to exercise their rights there. FOR SHAME AUSTIN.

The problem is there are quite a few of him in this country. It's how we ended up with Biden as president.

I have no problems with the way you voted, despite the fact that removing the camping ban has been an absolute disaster here for the homeless and for public safety of others.
But, you are the absolute fricking worst. Your arrogance. Insulting the perspective of people who live in Louisiana. You think that you understand nuance and others do not grasp.
Your incorrect assertions about being “different” than liberals, but the same in “good ways”.
In which part of town do you live and work, just curious?

Louisiana, it's major cities and state university is 100% Liberal. Any advice to ensure they all don't become more Austin than Austin?

I think, because of its reputation as the "only liberal city in Texas" (which is untrue now), people tend to ignore that there are a bunch of old high-brow racist libs that live there
