We just paid 2500.00 for our new Sheltie pup.

Wife and I love Shelties and their personality. This is our 4th one. We lost our 3rd in February.

Nothing against shelter pups, I wish every one of them could find a forever home.

We love the Sheltie breed.

We messed up and got a shelter dog last time.

Wasn’t our experience. One from the shelter, two strays, and one dog our son couldn’t handle when he was overseas. All, all were great. All lived over twelve years and the sole survivor is laying at my feet pushing seventeen.

Bought two cavapoos in November at $1800 each. I prefer finding stray dogs but these are two great pups for my kids.

Yeah wieners haven’t escaped Biden’s destructive economy. The left hate wienies for their all-American mystique.

My son has had nothing but rescue dogs for the past 25 years - they have all been great pets - his latest one passed away less than a year ago at age 13, but they spent thousands of dollar his last two years of life - they have a new one now - but it 'belongs' to his wife.

Lady down the street from us breeds French and English Bulldogs and gets $6-8K per puppy for the damned things. Folks have lost their damn minds. I wouldn't pay $6K for all of the UK or France (obviously I would) let alone a damn dog. I love dogs but there are plenty to be had for a couple of hundred bucks of fees at a shelter. Might even be some shelters who charge nothing. I paid $2500 for my lab but she has a pedigree that is pretty impressive and she is a damned fine dog and as good a duck dog as I have ever been around but as a pet the little mixed breed dog my daughter got from a shelter for $300 in fees is every bit as good a pet. The shelter dog has also never made a snide remark about my wing shooting or decoy placement so I may be partial to her because of that....my lab is a smartass that way.

I paid 4k for a couple of dogs. Don’t regret it one bit. Not saying there’s not some good shelter dogs out there. But I don’t want to make a mistake I will have to live with. Non-shedding and great with my kids, I would pay double.

Ya’ll keep saying this but from my experience it’s not true at all. All the shelters around me are charging $300-500. It includes shots and what not. But it’s no where close to free to adopt a dog from ‘the pound’

In addition to that, it seems like the cost of initial shots and getting a dog fixed has skyrocketed.

And food has doubled.

Subtle brag. You must know someone. Doodle dogs have become the "it" dog. I have a labradoodle myself. Paid $1200 for an F1b. Really good dog though. One of the best I have ever had.

I have two rescues and a $3500 small dog. The small dog behaves like he's got an ivy league education, the rescues are borderline wild animals.
