Who don’t surfers just wear chainmail spike suits while surfing. That would make it awesome when a shark attacks but gets sliced up by the humans instead. For too long we have feared them and allowed their attacks on our water sports. I say we stand up and fight.

We could eradicate most of the sharks if we wanted to.

It would royally frick up the ocean, though.

This reminds of the LA high schooler who leaped into shark infested waters and was clearly taken immediately

One of the glaring differences is Americans get paid more for the same job.

Stated another way, those vacation days are paid by using a shell game of lower wages. The dummies just don’t focus on wages , their 3-4 months of slackassery is the “gift” they receive from their government that they keep voting for.

Getting paid less and having several months off sounds like a good trade

Or better yet have a car battery on their surfboard with the wires wrapped around themselves, so when the shark bites...the joke is totally on them, amirite?

I remember that was a big deal on TD, but I never saw an update AT ALL. No interviews with others, nothing. Multiple people had to see something

Why should they close the beach? Just put a lot of signs up and let people make their own decisions. A nanny state is a true clown world.

Agreed. I'm laughing at the illusion of safety they try to create by closing/reopening the beach.

And yet Navy Seal candidates during BUDS finals have to do long night swims off of San Diego, an area frequented by sharks (including great whites) and in 60 years theres never been an attack. In fact, the only Seal ever killed by a shark wasn't even on duty… he was recreational swimming with his buddy and girlfriend when he was attacked by a juvenile shark.

Maybe the problem is the area itself. Same for South Africa.

I would never swim in an area like this or even California for that matter, but if i did, I would be wearing those magnetic anklets on both ankles and possibly the wrists.

Can someone provide a link to the drone video that doesn’t include 20 commercials?

And yet idiots still willingly surf and dive there which makes it really hard to have empathy for them.

When you compare it to what other western countries give their people...yeah, it's a huge and glaring disparity.
Now do the disparity in income. See how you feel about that.
