The ruling has nothing to do with corporations choosing to require the vaccine for it's employees. It's just stating that the government can't require the corporations to require their employees to be vaccinated. The corporations can still choose to require it of their own employees without the government mandate.

What is this voting rights act? Do they want criminals and illegals to have voting rights and that is what they are all up in arms about?

I work for one of them, so I'm very interested to see. I hope they do, but have little faith.

You can't sue your company. A private enterprise can enact their own vaccine mandate if they so choose, as long as it doesn't discriminate against a protected class.

This just simply says the government can't force private companies to do it, especially by weaponizing OSHA

Uh no. There is a built in quid quo pro between the mega corporations and this administrations. When bailouts are needed. The corporations will get billions of tax payers money for their shitty decisions. Rinse repeat

Political views are not a protected class. If someone is working for the FBI, is a communist, and undermining the state, then yes he can be fired. Can’t get people fired for that in the private sector, but in the public sector yes you can.

It will be interesting to see if some doctors choose to not see Medicare/Medicaid patients because of this.

Got a minor in HR. I can assure you nationwide that political views are not a protected class. Religious views are protected, but not political. Don’t believe me?

quote:

What Is Discrimination Based on Political Beliefs?

Discrimination based on politics happens when an employer makes job decisions because of an employee's political beliefs, party affiliation, or civic activities. An employer that, for example, refuses to hire applicants who vote Republican, fires anyone who supports gun control, or demotes someone who runs for the local school board is engaged in political discrimination.

Federal Laws Don't Prohibit Political Discrimination

Not all forms of discrimination are illegal, however. It is illegal under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 for employers to make job decisions based on race, color, national origin, religion, and sex. Other federal laws prohibit discrimination based on age, disability, and genetic information. However, political views aren't covered by these laws and the laws of most states. This means employers are free to consider political views and affiliations in making job decisions.

While I am ecstatic #SCOTUS agreed with us and upheld our victory at the Fifth Circuit over #OSHA’s mandate on private businesses, I am extremely concerned about the expansive power the Court has now given to the Secretary of HHS under the most flimsy regulatory authority. (1/3)

As I am hopeful the #OSHA decision brings relief to the millions of Americans whose lives were going to be impacted by #Biden’s overreach, I am devastated for our healthcare heroes whom the government is now forcing to violate their consciences in order to keep their jobs. (2/3)

I remain steadfast in my belief that healthcare decisions should be made by individuals, not dictated by bureaucrats intent on forcing medical procedures on people who do not want or need them. (3/3) #COVID19

You really have no clue do you?

Take a look at the first amendment. Now remember that you are talking about firing public government employees.

So I can tell my boss to go frick himself and then sue him for firing me for exercising my 1st Amendment rights? It doesn’t work that way, sweet heart.

Do you think it’d be fair that I couldn’t fire someone for being a literal Nazi and one of my Jewish employees threatens to quit if he’s not fired? Some political beliefs are pretty objectively evil, which is why they are not a protected class and can also create an unsafe work environment.
