A full suit is not necessary, but make sure you look very presentable. Ironed shirt and coat is fine. I work in the construction industry and that is actually dressed up, so im not sure what other industries require.

you ain't ready

Probably not but going to try anyway.

Buy a second suit. Not for this interview, just as a non-12 year old.

I just bought my first a few weeks ago.

Just decline the offer now and save yourself the embarrassment.

That was my first thought, but decided I can't get much lower than I am now.

I’ve been told twice by two former employers that the reason I got the job was because it came down to me and another guy but I wore a suit and the other guy didn’t.

When we hired for a receptionist at my last job (professional financial advisory firm) we had people shown up in tank tops, facial piercings, smelling like cigarettes, etc. My boss was extremely disappointed not a single person showed up woman's suit, and my boss was young, mid-30s. She said if you can't get yourself together for an interview, you can't represent the company to our standards.

Conclusion, dress better than they expect.

Business casual is acceptable these days.

The only exceptions are high finance and law.

This.

Don’t wear a suit if you’re never going to wear a suit to your job.

That just makes you look like you’re trying to hard

I'm 41 and have worked in white collar jobs for almost 20 years. I only have one suit. I think I've worn it twice in the past 7 years to funerals.
