Suggestions for fun things to do in Houston this weekend

My wife and I (no pics) have been living in The Woodlands for about 3 years now and I feel like we rarely venture out to the greater Houston area for entertainment.
We love to eat out, but are not big drinkers or partiers. I see there are Astros games this weekend, but what else is going on? Anybody have any specific plans they want to share? Thanks!

Museum of Natural Science has a great exhibit right now about human mortality. Sounds grim, but everyone I know that has seen it loves it.
Spend a day there and then go eat or have coffee in Montose or Rice Village.

Do you have any woodgrain you could grip?
Fo-Fos to tip?
Hoes to pimp?

This actually sounds pretty cool. I've never been to this museum so I'll definitely put this at the top of the list. Thanks!

Definitely agree with the museum and eat in Montrose or Rice Village suggestion.
The Rustic downtown near George R Brown usually has some pretty good live music on the weekend. Pete's Dueling Piano Bar can be fun, though don't expect it to be quite like Pat O's in NOLA if you're used to that, but it's still fun.
If ya'll have youngish kids, Discovery Green area can be fun to hang out at. Also, even if you don't go into the zoo, the park around the zoo can be nice. It's hot as hell this time of year, but if it stays cloudy like it currently is, could be nice. There's a decent, no thrills but beers pizza joint walking distance from there to chill at.

Go hit a Restaurant Week menu. Houston Restaurant Weeks
BCN would be my choice.
Museum of Natural Science.
The weather is supposed to be shite, but a drive down to San Leon to Pier 6 would be a way to eat up a chunk of an afternoon.

We were there in mid June. I had not been to that museum since I was a kid, and it was really impressive. Afterwards, we went to eat at the Ninfa's Galleria. Nice way to spend the day.

Check who is performing at improv this weekend. Always fun to grab dinner and catch a comedy show.
Color Factory can be a fun date night.
Check out a movie at Ipics. Really chill experience there.
Are you familiar with the Infinite VR experience? Super cool. We went twice.
We been wanting to try out Cidercade but never got around to it.

Astros are playing KC this weekend. It’s a big series so I would consider it among what everyone else recommends.

Drive to Hobby or George Bush and go somewhere else. Almost anywhere...just show up and wing it.
If they have an airport, i's got the be better than Houston.
