There's always a GoFundMe showing up here. If it makes it here, it's got to be pretty bullet proof. And St. Judes, of course.

St Jude's and Shriners are both great organizations that we support.
Other than that we stick with local organizations that we have a good idea where the money is being spent.

Ronald McDonald house...
They support and give the families of st Jude treated kids a place to live .
I’m not passionate about many things, but this is one of them. They do great work and help families in the hardest times

Contact a local church (not a mega church) and see what they are doing.
An example: a local church that builds ramps to let the elderly stay in their homes. The dollars you might give them would go for materials to help neighbors.
Send the dollars to a 'name' charity and put the higher ups in Escalades, pay for meals for meetings and hotel rooms for organizing more fund raisers....etc

The OT really delivered for my nephew. Apparently, a lot of the messages weren't fit for public posting, though.

My dude had a NICU stay, I sympathize with them, and hope that the little dude does awesome.

I used to donate to St. Jude and a couple others. I have, over the past few years, gotten away from larger non-profit donations. Rather, I prefer to donate locally to churches or homeless efforts, or to specific individuals in need via GoFundMe or local fundraising efforts.
I got tired of not knowing where my money goes, what it is used for, or how much actually gets to those who need it most. There have been far too many stories recently of shady non-profits bilking the public. I just cut out the middle man, if possible.

I do Compassion International. My ex wife did all the research and they seemed to be one of the more reputable ones.
I’ve been sponsoring a little boy in Kenya for 8 years. My super woke friend tells me I do it bc of my white fragility

How has following the updates gone? Is it very consistent?
I've wondered how often they stay in touch and how legit some of those are.
