Sucré, the high-end dessert shop co-founded by chef Tariq Hanna and that grew to three stores in New Orleans, is closing all locations effective Monday (June 17), the company announced.

ETA: And here's where it gets OT worthy, there's alleged sexual misconduct

quote:

An investigation by Brett Anderson for NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune found that the resignation occurred shortly after Hanna faced allegations of sexual harassment from several female employees. According to numerous sources and documents, from the time Sucré opened Hanna engaged in sexual misconduct with his female employees, including sexual encounters in the businesses and topless pool parities with staff.

Whats with all of the restaurant threads on the OT? Is the food board closed?

Food board tends to be more "how do I cook this?" or "Where should I eat in XYZ city?"

Food "news" tends to go on the O-T.

Wait, he's in trouble because he hooked up with employees and they voluntarily took their tops off at a pool party?

Is this not, almost standard-operating-procedure in the restaurant business? As well, rampant use of controlled substances?

Simply asking, as I have heard, and read things here and elsewhere.

I’m guessing this wasn’t just some consensual banging and titties if the dude had to shut down his whole business

I had a friend that was a real deal chef / restaurant owner for years until he retired to go into liquor sales. He had some epic parties and shite got college fraternity level raunchy. Ended up having an affair with his pastry chef and left his wife to marry her. Of course, once she got him she cut all the fun shite out.

100%

But damn, they were cool looking.

Not where I buy my king cakes, but they made cool centerpieces at Mardi Gras parties.

According to the statement on their FB page, they are closing due to lack of financial profitability.
