She is correct. If I order Surf and Turf or a salad I expect the same level of service. Service shouldn't be based on what I order, neither should the tip. The tip is based on the level of service I received, not the cost of my meal.

But are cheaper than a jobless 18 year old who lives with their parents
You think people get rich by giving away their money?

I don't hang out with anyone like that.
Cheap people are petty people.

all true, my dad was pretty well off and an extremely generous man but usually not the biggest tipper, didn't stiff anyone but would sort evaluate the service when looking at tipping

Then you are in this situation where 15%, which was good, is getting you called cheapskate.
Meh. Ain’t too concerned what others think

Good. Old people on fixed income shouldn’t tip over 15% ever.

Boomers had it so hard
They graduated highschool and worked at the local supermarket to pay their way through college.
They then graduated instantly got a job and brought a home at 23 for 50k in a great neighborhood newly built. Got married and had 3 kids.
They stayed with the same company for 30 years and seen their wages triple over that time, are near retirement with a booming 401k, their home is now valued at a half a million, and their SS are fully funded with a million saved over time.
Meanwhile these lazy kids graduate college has to take out loans to afford college and graduate with a 100k in debt.
They have an engineering degree after getting their master and struggle to find a job as the market is bare.
They finally get hired but make 40k a year but the average rent price is $1200 monthly and car note is $300 and insurance is $250.
They are now 30 can’t afford to have kids and still can’t afford to live alone as 60k in their position doesn’t get you as far anymore.
They need a roommate to afford basic necessities and now the average home price is 350k at a 6% interest rate. They dreamed of owning a home seems impossible.
But the latter is the lazy weak man who just complains.

I gave when I was poor, I gave when I was in the middle, and I give now.
Never missed one single dollar I gave away...
So I'd say yes...
I'd love to how many whiners in this thread actually give anything to help others?
I aint talking about giving tips to the server w/ big boobs, they always do well.

Posted on 3/20/25 at 9:40 am to RaoulDuke504

This is poor people shite. If I’m paying for something, I pay for it. I don’t pay for most of it and then ask you to throw in at the end
