Just traded in our Expedition, had 250K and the AC compressor went out. Engine was running just fine.

In iSeeCars.com’s analysis of more than 13.5 million cars sold in 2017, the Toyota Sequoia ranks first with 6.6 percent of its cars over 200,000 miles

So, this is only of used cars sold in 2017. Not sure how that my skew the data away from cars that people are more reluctant to get rid of.

I will say that for the SUVs, the ones that last the longest are the ones that virtually never leave the blacktop. I would stack a Land Cruiser up against any of them, and have faith that (under the same conditions) would be more reliable.

how can engineering something that doesn't last be considered awesome?

When narrowed down to trucks only

This is a bit misleading. Ford only makes one truck that falls into these segments and two of the GM trucks are actually the same truck with different badging and body panels.

Gets funny when you bump it to 300k and then 400k.

At 400k Toyota has like 70% of the light duty vehicles.

Toyota designs are terrible.

They are well engineered cars that last forever if maintained, but they are some of the worst designs in the business.

I put 215k on a '07 Avalanche (which is a modified Yukon) in less than six years.

I put 155k on a '04 Avalanche before it with no problems from either vehicle.

I'm now in a '14 Grand Cherokee with 150k problem-free miles so far.

Probably something I'm doing and not doing?

what in your mind constitutes 'good design'? kidney grills and headlights with windshield wipers?

or maybe this?

My last car was a Honda Accord and I got 284k miles on it before I decided to part ways with it. I have a 2012 Toyota Camry now and I'm hoping to get at least 250k miles on it before I look to move on to something else. I think I'm at 120k miles on it now and I haven't had any issues with it. Hopefully, it stays that way for another 100k miles.

For a TL;DR: Toyota's are the most durable. Also, water is wet.
