DAVIS, CA (KOVR/CNN) - Police are investigating a disturbing claim made by California high school students concerning suspicion their classmates gave them cookies mixed with cremated remains to eat.
Police are working to confirm the claim that two Da Vinci High School students used human remains in the mix of a homemade batch of sugar cookies.
The students handed the cookies out at their Davis, CA, high school, and at least nine students ate them without knowing about the ashes allegedly inside.
Investigators suspect the ashes alleged to have been used may have been those of one of the students’ grandparents.
Lt. Paul Doroshov says he’s never come across a case like this. The students who ingested the cookies seem healthy, he says.
"I have not heard of anybody getting sick or being harmed, as far as physically or physiologically, by this,” Doroshov said.
Police are working to uncover more about the morbid claim, which is so far based on student testimony. The cookies have not been tested yet.

People at the office wonder why I don't like to eat food that other people bring in to share, this is why.

Is it sad that I immediately thought of Cartman?

There's a Married With Children episode where Kelly cleaned out Al's grill to surprise him. Then he was overheard telling someone that the secret to his hamburgers was he never cleaned out the grill or ashes. That evening Al cooked hamburgers and there were ashes in the grill. Turns out Kelly replaced the old ashes with ashes from an urn of the next door neighbor. One of the funnier endings to a show.

You know it's weird. These cookies smell like grandma but taste like grandpa.

So, does this mean that some others knew and ate them anyway?

I have my mothers ashes on my mantle. She didn’t want to be scattered anywhere and wasn’t much of an outdoors type person so every now and then I scatter them on the carpet.
Then I vacuum her back up.
