Seems like the existence of the cannabis plant, and our bodies being littered with 2 types of cannabinoid receptors, says otherwise.

I have a question. Since the pro pot lobby told us that if we vote to legalize cannabis, illicit drug dealing (weed) and all of its associated ills would drastically decrease.

When exactly does that start?

The porn one is just a silly one when it actually gets to the logistics of it. Realistically, you have to be 18 to view porn. So, showing an ID isn't an absurd ask at face value. We have to provide ID's to prove age all the time You had to do it to rent a porno from a movie store. However, the feasibility of having to do it on the internet is almost impossible and is a ridiculous waste of time and resources.

That's the mentality that loses R's votes.

The R party should be about fiscal conservatism...not appeasing cranky baptists

While I don't live in Louisiana, we have similar dumb shite going on here in Kentucky.

It's literally politicians catering to a certain population to say they've done some work in their positions. When in reality, while they're busy fighting over some culture war bullshite our states are failing in education, economy, crime, etc.

And before someone gets all "But that side...", both sides have been infiltrated by extremists who have no desire to do real work for the people in their states. They're just really good at campaigning on single-issues to go collect a check and some Cadillac health insurance.

At one point you had be 18 to buy a Hustler.

I'm pretty sure most of the men here were buying Hustlers before they were 18. Or had someone buying it for them.

Sure, but that didn't mean the law wasn't there. The law is still there. People just bend or broke it all the time. Same with buying beer. Verifying your age is pretty common. Having to do it on the internet is almost impossible to do without requiring every website to have a way of checking it every single time someone visits the site. Which, again, is a laughable concept. Having it just while connected to wifi obviously isn't ever going to work.

Oh FFS, have you walked around NOLA or pretty much anywhere? No one is stopping you from smoking weed. And as for the porn stupidity, hit up one of the other numerous websites out there. Or try finding a real woman.

Generally speaking, most people are only Christian when it's convenient and in their best interest for them to be.

Except in this scenario you show the ID to the clerk, who scans it for accuracy and gives it back.

In the current scenario, the website takes your personal data, verifies with a state-commissioned organization that houses that info in a data warehouse(and we all know there is no prescedant with contractors with access to sensitive citizen data to get hacked or abuse it), the website attaches cookies to your profile, which creates long-term browser footprints(browse only in incognito? Cool, congrats, every time you visit a website you have to re-verify and that creates a pretty direct chain of personal activity for the state to compile). And at any time Louisiana could pass or amend(or just corruptly abuse) the law to start using that data and history to do, well, whatever the frick they wanted. For instance maybe someone with the temperament of some of our despotic morality police cheerleaders get in power and decide all porn is bad and want to use that collected data to prosecute moral offenders of decency.

Secondarily, it's pretty easy to conceive of nefarious pop up phishing prompts that try and get a user(likely of the older, less tech-savvy variety) to simply give them their data, which they just use to steal your identity.

Is this such a bad thing? Print the list of masturbators in The Advocate so that they can be publicly shamed
