I just thought about something. Last night when SWB did their Twitter announcement and discussed how the loss of power affected their sewage processing, we kind of ignored that b/c we were all thinking in a doomcasting mindset about the pumps failing and flooding occurring. But with major power issues now being faced by Nola, isn't the sewage issue going to be a major one?

The actually quote from the weather service is posted on here. The guy who was reading it posted all of the readings he was getting on Facebook. It was legit. 149 sustained with 172 max gust.

I want to revisit this right quick. The 172 was measured gust, but the 149 was also a gust:

Want to provide more context on Port Fourchon Ship ob. in #Ida's eyewall yesterday. It looks like the 149 MPH reading was an *instantaneous* wind & not a sustained wind. Compare device manual to console photo of the observation.

Credit goes to @v0rticity for excellent sleuthing. LINK

Currently no rain or wind in Biloxi. Interstate is clear. Highway 90 still has some water in parts.

That live cam you posted yesterday was a lifesaver. Thank you.

Not sure. They tried to get to it but power lines blocked too many roads. She stayed at her boyfriends parents who have a pretty large well built home.

They were able to get generator power and I assume will operate that way for the foreseeable future

I may be misremembering (and it's not shocking b/c there was an argument ongoing about what they actually said), but I think the generator power was for the pump, not sewage.

This reporter on WAFB is losing her shite during a live studio broadcast.

I mean, I get this is an overwhelming event and empathy is something you want to have, but you're supposed to be a damned professional. Matt Williams is also a damned drama queen.

That actually looks better than I expected since they were so close to the eye. Surprised at the number of buildings in tact.

I hear ya, but there's nothing stopping you from stocking up on food and water ahead of time.

True but there’s a significant amount of people who don’t have the funds to buy 3 weeks worth of groceries at one time most people live paycheck to paycheck.

Is alcohol part of your survival list?

Sure! Helps disinfect bacteria and prevent infections if you consume enough

All BTR inbound flights for today have now been cancelled/delayed.

AA's DFW-BTR flight is now showing as operating at 7:00a tomorrow and all others have been cancelled.

Woodlake which is close, has plenty of wind damage but no flooding and no power.
