Curious what EMD's they have. Probably 16-645's
EMD=locomotive Locomotive prime movers are commonly used for power generation and in towboats.

Exactly. Looking at being without power at least 48 hours starting tomorrow but could be without it for 4-5 days. Better hang tight. I know it’s a bitch but you’d better save it for when you need it…during the day
I don't own two generators to rough it...

A quick glance at TWC radar says BR ain’t out of the woods yet.
Looks like a western turn.
Ida basically dodged Thibodaux and then got right back on the course.

Hell naw, baw. I had the Ginny up and running 10 minutes after the power went out. All night with no power would not make for a happy 1 yo, 5 yo, or 7 yo. AC is blowing, lights are on, and WiFi is good to go.

They blow money on shite like this because their “profit” is capped by the PSC (which our PSC, Eric Skrmetta might actually be the most corrupt politician we have). What they should be doing is lowering their fricking prices instead
OR upgrading their infrastructure and talent (get better engineers) so if their cap is ever changed they have created significantly more value to their operation.

Maybe the fact that Entergy NOLA is feeding no power at all through the system means the crews can more quickly and easily fix the individual problems while they deal with the collapse of the tower. But how long will the tower fix take?

It's gonna go right up the middle of Livingston Parish.

I wouldn’t doubt it. But I’m more optimistic. I think parts of Kenner and Metairie will get it back in 4-5 days

Just spoke to the family in Thibodaux. Leaks in the roof in the house and parts of shed roof are gone, but everything still in tact. Says it’s still dicey there and they aren’t out of the woods yet, winds have shifted

Dumb question from an out-of-stater...
We have family in Pankerdville, Assumption Parish. They always refuse to evacuate, which is fine, and they have always made it through or at least bounced back well.
We have not heard from them yet in several hours, which in and of itself is not unusual. But that said, this storm is also unusual. Should we be more worried than normal for them?
