70448 is Madisonville but close enough. 70433 looks pretty much the same. Not as bad as I was expecting.

Looking at Radar, I honestly think the eye is about to head N/NNE.

Anyone else hearing rumors that Thibodaux Regional’s backup generators failed once power was lost? Have a family member in Thib med industry claiming this. Hopefully false.

We don't get TWC since switching to YoutubeTV, but this studio host in WeatherNation is an absolute smoke show. Looks like a freak in the bed too.

NOAA says 55-70 peak gusts. Sustained only 43. I think most of us can live with that!

Not trying to.

It might be the case the west side of my little drawing doesn't see very much and it could end up being farther east in general between the storm eroding on the west side and it might be starting it's more northerly turn now.

But

I'm far from sure enough about that to say it's going to happen.

Here's the actual plot. As I keep tracing the inner edge of the outer eyewall, the pink circles have gotten smaller and smaller.

Perhaps enough to avoid Morgan City with the worst, but not Houma, Lockport, Thibodaux, Convent, or Baton Rouge.

Time for folks there to hunker down. LINK

good info for slackster^

The slowdown certainly hasn't helped Houma.
