Washington parish sheriff just told us not to be on the streets after the storm. I don’t get this mindset. If you’ve chosen to be a first responder why can’t you just do your job?

The idea is for idiots not to trip over live downed power lines. But they can't just say that, because people are very stupid.

You lose DirecTV in a summer storm and this guy is live streaming remotely during 140mph winds on a rig he set up over the weekend.

Put him in charge of contra flow from here on out.

The craziest thing during hurricanes is how right before a big gust all the cracks and gaps in the doors buzz really loud. It’s a huge buzz then the wind gusts. I guess it’s a pressure thing.

Green lightening is creepy af at night with that wind howling…

I’ve always said we need to create landfills off the coast. They’re stinky giant hills, but they would take a lot of the brunt of a storm. May even catch some sediment.

I live in South FL and they are everywhere. They turned a waste mountain into 9 hole golf course In Lantana after it off gassed for many years. You can still smell it in some spots fer sure

Some break in every storm. They just go with the best readings they can get and radar. When one breaks in the highest winds it is usually noted on the final report in the offseason.

One of the most iconic breaks was NHC's anemometer in Coral Gables breaking at 144 half an hour before Andrew's eye wall arrived.

I'm in Seacrest, FL. We just had a band come through Radarscope showed 55-60 mph gusts. That's enough Ida for my liking. Hate to think about what yall are going through back home.

Dump trash in a wet environment where leachate could escape. What’s the worst that could happen
