Ida. Fun fact, more “I” storms are retired than any other letter.

When are they saying the storm will form up in order of getting a better prediction of where she’s going?

Things will definitely ramp up this evening or tomorrow once the NHC starts putting out advisories. Every model I looked at on tropicaltidbits this morning has a LA landfall.

So no change from last night. One says LC the other NOLA. Fanfrickingtastic

We’ll know a lot more in the next 24 hours.

I think the GFS moved slightly west towards central LA, but I could be wrong.

The one is see still has it just west of SW pass.

We better get ready for another JBE press conference in the coming days. 100 bucks he’ll shoehorn COVID and vaccinations into hurricane preparedness.

Channel 6 just reported
Lots of rain with this system.
Hurricane hunters will give us a much better idea of exactly where the center is and once that is known, models will be drawn and that could significantly impact the projections.
I’m prepping for cat 1.
Oil for generator, non perishable food, water, cut grass, put stuff away on the dock and around yard,
Chainsaws prepped and ready

I’m trying to figure out where all the hysteria is coming from for the LC folks. I realize ensembles still have a wide spread including SWLA but all major models point towards SELA.
I know it could swing back the other way but at this point, things are looking better for SWLA than any other point in a while.

Oh my bad I was looking at the GFS ensemble map on the previous page. That may have been old.

Supposed to fly into Nola Sunday night. Trying to think of plans now if I can’t. Wife and kid will likely go to in-laws while I find a place to stay till it passes. Not sure what else to do.

Still bad for Houma/Thibodaux but not as bad as a Morgan shitty landfall

Correct me if I am wrong, we have one model showing TX/LA line (HWRF) and everything else is White Lake and further east. Is that where we are this morning?
