Is Stewart on duty tonight? He's fairly conservative so I'm curious to see if he upgrades or not.

Second recon pass through #Ida shows a preliminary pressure drop of ~10-11 mb in an hour and a half. If verified by dropsonde, this indicates explosive intensification. NE eyewall winds were measured in ballpark of 130 mph at the surface, which would be on edge of Cat 4 strength.

I want to go to sleep because tomorrow will be a long day, but with how this storm is going I can't look away.

This breaks my freaking heart. I hate to tell folks to evacuate, because I don’t know it I would, but get the kids and elderly out of there. Please

After seeing this I’m thankful I left Prairieville. I know many of people who stayed and man are they in for a wild ride.

Middle age really is a gradual process of becoming in awe of your parents and horrified by your past self.

Also, for those wondering the difference between flight level winds and surface winds.

The formula is: (flight level X .90) X 1.151.

This looks terrible. No sleep for me

I can’t sleep. That last gif has me re-evaluating my plans. I can’t leave, but I can get everyone into a tiny single story brick house with minimal windows. It’ll be miserable but it seems to be the best option now. That fight will be fun tomorrow.

I watched the Euro predictions the last two Coastal Carolina hurricanes and it scared the ever loving bejeebies out of me.

I think ya'll are looking at a high cat 3 or cat 4 but I was looking at some earlier cone... When ya'll were saying it was at Cat 2. So what do I know? But the Euro is generally nuts.

If it makes you feel better when I just saw this cane on Levi's page it reminded me of the one after Florence; where the guy got his jeep stuck on Myrtle Beach. It dudded out.

So here's some thoughts and prayers it dies.

Even a 2 can put out some tornadoes tho from the water spouts going to land-- so stay safe ya'll.

Nevermind, it's fricking late. I think that's an orange.

It has, but there was a pretty decent wobble to the west recently.
