Flight level winds just recorded at 116 knots, that’s about 120 mph extrapolated to surface level. Not even at the eyewall yet

stay safe man. I’ll be thinking about you. my wife is just north of you in walker and I fricking hate it. I had to choose between staying with her with our two boys or take them away from the storm, so I came to Alabama... shite is honestly driving me insane right now. I really can’t even think straight right now I’m worried about her

You posting a false statement makes me autistic?

Natural disasters happen all over the US and the world on a very regular basis. We’ve been fortunate not to have our number called significantly in BR since 2016.

I know that's just how it looks on the radar, but that looks like it's moving west to me.

Also what a storm!

Gotta be low level, theres not much reason for an upper level recon at this point. Its be pulled into the models about the time the storm is making landfall.

Name one? You want me to name one region of the country with fewer days of school closures, power outages, evacuations, boil water advisories, flooding, and general existential threat than southeast Louisiana?

How much time to I get to answer?

I think it shows the "sweet spot" of the age of most posters on the OT Lounge. Unlike during Katrina/Rita, more of us now have older parents that need us to lead them to making the right choices and more valuable possessions (including our own families) to take care of.

Amen to this.

Katrina I was a dipshit high school student with no responsibilities and no worries in life. Now I have a mortgage and a wife and kids and a career and all kinds of elderly family on both sides. It’s just different. Make me want to call my dad right now and wake him up and thank him for everything he did for me and my family during and after Katrina.

So 5 in 16 years not all of them causing life altering affects to the same people each time.

So if youve lived within like 75 miles of the Louisiana coast in the last 16 years you’ve had your life wrecked at least once?
