Common theme here:
- “Man, latest update has it a good bit more East”.
- “Actually it’s more West”
We have recon showing it roughly on track, if not a touch west on the last pass. Still going NW.
Please, just follow the NHC and not these chucklefricks wobble watching.

They do the update 90 minutes before they post it?

New consensus model tonight, another east shift. It now goes right over Grand Isle, up Hwy 1 then into the River Parishes.”
Doubt they shift it that much

00z Recon fix is still just West of the 4:00 pm NHC track and 967mb, which is still running about 5mb higher than the HWRF & HMON. Satellite presentation continues to slowly improve.

This is a nightmare. This storm is thicc and keeps heading more towards NOLA

All these shifts look to me like in the grand scheme of things, nothing has changed in nearly a week. Thats amazing.

It’s crazy to see people of the OT listening to the experts, scientists, and news when determining what to do during an emergency. After the past 18 months I was worried people may think the storm was hoax. I’m relieved to see that everyone is following the science. Please listen to your local officials and meteorologists. I really hope everyone stays safe out there!!
Post of the thread lol

Holy shite my uncle is dumb
Keep trying to convince him to go back to his house on Northshore but he's convinced this thing is going to shift enough that the Northshore take a direct hit. Make it worse he thinks he'll be on the West side in Hammond in a hotel because that was all he could book.
I told him you don't think there's a reason you got that room yesterday? He has a house generator too in a pretty sturdy house. Going to have to knock some sense in that baw.

Ida’s center is showing up on the New Orleans radar. The beam is really high out there, so that’s why the convection doesn’t look very intense.

NWS offices get the update an hour early typically. Local news stations probably will too. They may still update position and intensity up to the advisory though.
I'm pretty sure it is not an hour and a half early.

It’s about time to quit worrying about models and watch the storm.

JBE saying this is one of the strongest storms to hit LA since atleast the 1850s. Should I have gotten more ice?
First, SWLA dodged a bullet
Now Ida will be the strongest hurricane that hit Louisiana in 160 years.

About six months ago I ate an MRE out of a box that I got after Gustav that someone gave me. The only thing wrong with it was that the heater pack did not work so I had to heat it on the stove. But it was still good without a doubt everything in it was still good.
There's 13 soldiers that wish they could still eat MRE's, Joe Biden and his fagot military leaders made sure that never happens again
