Yes, which side. The bluff side is fine, the swamp side is not fine.

I still never fully understood why someone would build a house at ground level in a swamp and then be surprised when it floods.

In comparison to other historic hurricanes, how does Ida rank in size?
IIRC, Camille was somewhat small, Katrina was massive.

Has anyone heard from the SIL’s cousin who dates the “ Lady in Charge of Life Jackets “ for the State of Louisiana. Ominously quiet.

Pretty average cane, so far, on size. That wind field keeps expanding though, but it's not going to be Katrina or Ike big.

Look princess, it’s not near as bad as the sensationalism of the news portrays. Is there a chance? Yes absolutely but it’s a small chance. Now knock on wood as I hate to jinx us but there’s a reason all of us Nola and south Louisiana people started having hurricane parties decades ago. They would fear monger and say absolute destruction is eminent and it would go left or right so we’d get a free few days from school or work and have a great time with a nice breezes and somewhat cooler weather than is normal for our area this time of year.
Could it hang west and unfortunately screw our westerly Louisiana brothers more? Yes. Could it hook east like my golf drive? Yes at a less of a chance since I slice 90% of the time.
Point is we’re in a good spot.
That’s all I got, unfortunately the buzz is wearing off before I finished my thought and I forgot. Don’t panic and be a man.
