Choosing between NO and BR?

Not even 24 hours ago the answer was NO

Reading between the lines NWS New Orleans is worried about the trend east and is trying to do the job local officials won't to get people out.

That is the only concerning thing about your instructions. I know, desperate times/desperate measures but a car battery in the kitchen counter isn’t ideal.

I left Grand Isle this morning at 8:30 am. The weather was beautiful and pretty calm seas. No indication of the impending storm whatsoever.
I think about this from time to time. Imagine our ancestors who didn't have any kind of technology to predict and track storms like this. You're just minding your business one day then a typhoon rolls up and kicks your butt.

And that’s fine.
I’m in BR. It’s gonna hit us no matter what at this point unless something drastic happens.

Which is complete and total fricking horseshite. They should NOT be put in that position.

"Last days of last island" is a pretty good quick read about that exact scenario. Imagine being a mariner back in those days. I guess you just didn't sail as much in hurricane season

I wonder if the constant dee convection to the west of the center for the past couple hours will start to tug Ida back west.

I pulled it up and saw exactly what he say. A wobble East then a wobble west
I’m just glad I wasn’t the only one to see that
I was just watching the eye wall cycle and to me it just seems it has somewhat of a more northerly component than what I was thinking it would have to go as far west as the latest guidance is showing. Of course it’s got some time but I would not be shocked for it to be a shade more east than predicted now.

Out of the cone doesn’t mean out of the impacted area, jr just means the center isn’t likely to go right over you.
No shite chief. My only point is I notice the peeps in mand/cov have been in the NHC cone since it first came out. Now they are not. So all the past trends have been west.
If the next update says there back in then ok, they are. I was just using it as a mark to see the western shift recently. frick.
