I’m in Ponchatoula. I’m arguing with my wife to send her and my kids to some friendship Tennessee. I’d stay but we’re in a new house and we’ve never rode a storm and it’s surrounded by trees. I’ve got to stay close for work but I have a place to go for a night further north.

Going to lake Charles last year and helping clean up has me completely shell shocked. Ive seen what a cat 4 will do, and if it shifts a little bit east tomorrow it’ll be too late to get them out.

I love the woman, but it’s times like these that drive me nuts.

see people keep saying there’s a slight shift East on the model yet these center lines keep shifting west. That center line was on western Houma a day or so ago. Hence my constant confusion lol

If you are under an evacuation order, GET OUT. If you aren’t and you don’t know what your house can stand with wind/flooding, get out. If you are INLAND and you don’t want to be w/o power for a week or more, get out. I can’t tell you what to do. But if you have the means, go.

Ignore all of the people talking about shifts.

Ride the NHC's path, the exact details of where it goes will come down to wobbles that we can't really figure out that far in advance. The NHC, especially when the steering is so cut and dry, are going to get it closer than any one model at this stage.

This. Though a wobble on approach can change landfall 10-20 miles
