How does moving it a week out from when you need it help? My brain’s not understanding .
If you need to cancel your room because you’re not going to use it but you’re inside the non cancelation window you just move your reservation outside of the window to where they won’t allow you to get your money back.

places were running out of water and gas here two days ago. normally I'd write it off as ptsd or paranoia. and it is. but it is for a very good reason.
Stopped for gas early this morning heading to work and only two pumps out of ten didn’t have the yellow bag over them. Looked towards the store and there was two packs of water left on the outside shelves.
People in SWLA aren’t messing around. The fear is real.

Do the zoo or Audubon park keep their parking lots open? Wouldn't be terrible spot to keep cars since I rarely ever see standing water in them
Of course you gotta watch out for the Zoo animals when they get out

Well 90 minutes to close up all the functional shutters on 14 windows. Almost got stung by wasps 3 times but I had the spray ready. One of the nests had to be about 6 inches wide with about 15 wasps on it.
Just have to pick up the patio stuff later and I'll be just about done.

Idk, we're leaning towards leaving too... hearing stories from people who stayed for Laura, IDK if I wanna stay. I was here for Gustav, but this one will be WAY worse.

I don't think they have a way to block them, but they may tow anyone there after dark.

I'd recommend anyone thinking about riding it out in NOLA area on the southshore watch Levi Cowan's update (Tropical Tidbits) first.

Not sure. But now that I covered the windows, Ida will go farther away from me. At least a few miles - I hope.
