Well, shouldn't we leave when it becomes more apparent that this is a likely outcome?
I typically try to avoid small chances of catastrophe, even though the chances are small because the potential impact is so large.
Im probably not going to get hit by lightning on a golf course, but Im not about to go play 18 with a thunderstorm overhead.

Fairhope a good evac spot?
Years ago Hugo in SC came ashore near Charleston and a band destroyed a lot in the Myrtle Beach area, 90 miles away.

interesting. I live in Midcity. lost it for 12 hours ish.
also the eye went right over us, pretty cool experience tbh but now I keep hearing it "wasn't a typical cat 3 hurricane"
anyways I'm keeping track but I'm not evacuating yet. I also don't have children so much different situation I'm assuming

Another thing about restoring power this year - with this slow supply chain environment, it may not be the same lead times to getting your power back on.
A lot of reports of long lead times for transformer equipment and core steel components.

You always have the tornado risk on the Eastern side, too. And, they aren't the type tornadoes you will have alot of lead time for.
