If there’s anyone to trust to get a hurricane model right it’s definitely Canada

I am in Mandeville and I am currently planning on staying. I have a generator and I am picking up a windows unit ac this afternoon.

No little kids to worry about.

For all the fretting over the center wobble, the 6z HWRF had it passing to the NW of the Isle of Youth and still had it making landfall near Cypremort Point.

I’m confused. So what are you saying here?

Therein lies the rub with evacs - if everyone thinks that way it’s FUBAR.

Because I shudder at the thought of being stuck in a mass of humanity trying to leave New Orleans on I-10, I would err on the side of caution. Like, if it was trending to "worst-case", my arse would be out of there before it was "very likely", because at that point I think everyone would be leaving.

I’m in Prairieville where you can literally blow on the power lines and the lights flicker. I’m 100% going somewhere else.

I've lived off 73 between Airline and I-10 for 12 years now and can count on one hand the amount of times our power has gone out longer than a flicker.
Also, my office is across the street from Oak Grove, so the likelihood of not having power at both is very unlikely.

I never lost power in Zeta, but coworkers and friends were easily without power for a week.
