Maybe the south LA topography is a different animal, but I think it's also relatively common that Cat 2-3 storms come in with recorded sustained below 100 even at the coast. I know that's not definitive of sustained winds due to measurement issues, but a consideration nonetheless
Correct. I think I saw on that screenshot earlier the highest sustained winds recorded in BR history was in the 75 MPH range or so. Imagine 25 more MPH... there would probably be more trees down than standing at the end of it. Barring some kind of random vaccum like condition that would allow the eye wall to basically remain completely intact for 200 miles or so, 100 MPH sustained winds is basically impossible this far inland.

These were the models run at 1AM. The next ones will be telling now that we are getting a more defined center of circulation.

Hurricane hunters showing center fix North of previous fix.
Probably going to see a shift East in the tract later today.

Seeing chatter that the last hwrf has it at 940 at landfall and initialized it at 8 kb higher than what the nws has already recorded?

I’d love to wish this thing go more West but I can’t wish that on SW LA; those poor people just can’t catch a break.

We just need to build a giant fan to blow the hurricane away from here

Praying for everybody in the path of this one.

I guess if/when the news comes out on likely strength being 4-5 is when people not paying attention are going to flip the frick out.
