Surprised you're getting so many downvotes.

This is certainly uncivilized behavior and you're a good person for stopping it. If everyone had this behavior then exiting the plane would be even more a cluster frick than it already is.

For those that said they could be catching a connection, typically a good airline will announce before landing that there are people on the flight with tight connections and please let them go first.

Also, when confronted I'm sure they would've brought it up if that were the case, but the OP said they simply stopped and acted dumb.

If you want to get off the plane quickly then pay for a seat up front. Otherwise sit the frick down and wait your turn.

This is the rule and not the exception in many international airports around the world

So they got up and ready before you did and you stop them from being ready before everyone else. Sounds like you're the a-hole. There was nothing stopping anyone else from getting ready at the same time or even before then was there? There's a reason why they don't announce and say we get off with the people up in front getting off first. Because there's fat arse slow people that take forever to get ready and out of their seats. People that get ready ahead of time actually help the flow. What a douche

I’m with you OP that the behavior is ridiculous. The plane lands then some a-hole rushes up the aisle only to get stuck next to me with a backpack blocking me as I want to stand up a stretch my legs. They still end up waiting the same amount of time, it just disrupts the rest of the off boarding.

Not a Karen. There is an etiquette to disembarking from a plane unless there are tight connections that the crew informs the cabin of.

They also don't announce that you have to stand in line at the grocery store checkout.

Because some things are obvious common courtesy and they don't expect trashy Neanderthals such as yourself to need a sign or announcement to tell you that.

You pay for your seat, not the space in the aisle next to it.

I have never read the fine print on a ticket. Does the price of the ticket actually guarantee you reaching your destination? If you are going to LAX for example and they close the airport and divert you to Burbank. They call it good? Like a cruise doesn't guarantee any port stops.

This only proves you don't think before you type. A grocery store line is first come first serve kind of what that person on the plane was doing. What you did is as if you stopped the first person going in line to the checkout

No we were getting off an international flight so I’m guessing they were trying to rush ahead and beat everyone to customs

That’s why I have Global Entry. So I don’t have to wait with the Muggles.

I guess I shouldn't have expected a trashy Neanderthal to understand a simple analogy.

You said there's nothing saying people in the front of a plane should get off first.

People stand in line at a grocery store, although there is nothing official telling them to do so. There is no sign or announcement stopping someone from going from 5th in line to 2nd in line except common decency.

Go to China or Vietnam and you'll find this out the hard way.

Same with getting off an airplane. You shouldn't need a sign or announcement.

I always position my carry-on right in the middle of the isle with my hand resting on it.

I’ll let you through if you have a connecting, I’m not a dick. But everyone else gets a nice heaping of “wait your turn” courtesy of me.
