TurboTax just joined the "we fricked up club".

If you filled through TurboTax Good Luck, they are saying file your 2020 taxes to get the stimulus payment but no one has the information required

They are in full damage control on Twitter

TurboTax

This sounds like a fixable issue. Especially if the payments went through smoothly in April. Who knows.

I didn't think any of the OT ballers even qualified for the stimulus payment.

I wonder if these people maybe didn't use TurboTax the year prior. Because in April, if you hadn't yet filed, the IRS would have whatever bank account you used the year before. But today, everyone has filed by now so its through that TurboTax 3rd party account.

IDK, just a guess. I switched to Credit Karma's free tax service last year and really liked it.

We used H&R Block and had filed our 2019 return before the first payment and did not have this issue but this time around our stimulus is sitting in some bank account in California. Not real sure why it didn't follow suit on the first one?

It's my understanding that if you owed money on your 2019 return and got it directly taken out of your bank account then the IRS will send a paper check. Why? Who knows.

I owed and got it directly deposited.

During the first round, I didn't get a stimulus when everyone else did so I went into the IRS portal and entered my bank account and a week later, got it.

Got this 2nd one no problem, I assume because I entered my direct account into the portal back in April.

Apparently, some people get a pre-loaded debit card instead of a paper check. I'm not sure why, but I'm gonna be so pissed if that happens to me.

Have used TurboTax the last 5 years. Usually do it myself as soon as we receive our W2s in January. Fortunately no issues here. Received both stimulus payments during the 1st week payments started going out.

I've used turbotax for the last 6 years. First stimulus came through without issue. Now I'm getting the 'status unknown' message for the 2nd round

Got mine.

I also used turbotax, and owed last year as well

However, I will say that I also entered back account information with IRS during the first round of payments. So probably why I got it this time around without issue.

I owed taxes in 2019 and am being told via the IRS website that my check is being mailed out today. Bizarre.

IRS came out with a press release today. If you show this statement as of January 5th, you need to claim it on your taxes.

I've used TurboTax the last few years. First stimulus went through fine without issue. Second I'm going to have to claim on my taxes.

It's a clusterfrick.

It is but the IRS has basically just thrown up their hands and said sorry, we don't have time to fix it. Just claim it on your taxes and hope you don't have to pay in.
