Stimulus Payments, Round Two

It looks like my payment was deposited into an account that wasn’t mine. The IRS website shows it being deposited into an account with the last four digits not matching anything we have. Has this happened to anyone else and if so, we’re you able to get it resolved?

Wife's friend just had the same thing happen to them...called IRS and said that it's happened to quite a few people.

This happened to me the first go around. It was deposited into a Fast Tax account who does my taxes. I received a paper check about a month later.

Just kidding Baw, I file Head of Household due to many factors and actually get one too.
I have one minor I claim
I received $600.00 this morning but have no idea who it's for. (me , my kid, my X wife) last time they sent my X wife's payment to my account and I kept it. She owes me about 100 x that.

It happened to me the first time, I finally told them not to worry about the $1200, just take the $2800 I owe in federal taxes out of the same account.

We have a client whose deceased husband got 4 months of covid unemployment payments. She got a letter saying the payments had run out. If the scammers had bothered to change the mailing address, she never would have known.

The IRS called me personally to let me know.
