Bet he saved more snakes from being killed than anybody on the planet. I know I only kill the poisonous ones that are in my path now.

For me it's when he's in the mountains of Kentucky surrounded by all the rattlesnakes.
"Oh..... Just gonna slooooooowly bring my foot over here and back away."

I remember watching one of his shows and they were looking for the most deadly snake in Australia, I thinks it was the eastern brown snake, and he was laying on his stomach next to one’s layer and it decided to come out and it crawled into his shirt and just crawled around. Irwin stayed frozen until it crawled back out of his shirt and back into his layer. Easily the biggest Oh shite moment I saw him do
That’s always one of the first incidents I think of when I think about Steve Irwin.
His death was the only time I shed a tear for a celebrity.

I have been snorkling in schools if 1000s of the same species that killed Irwin. I didn’t even know they had stingers.
Wow - really? 1000s of them and you didn't notice the 2-6 inch barb on their tail?

Wrong wrong wrong. He was a man who fully understood and appreciated the risks he faced and acted to help people understand the animals he was dealing with in all their beauty and danger.
right lol, i guess you missed the show where he let his 2 year old son sit on the back of an alligator that wasnt secured and didnt have its mouth taped shut
the man was as much of an idiot as the bear guy who got him and his new girlfriend killed and eaten because he kept getting way too close to the bears thinking he shared some "special bond" with them

Fierce snake. Very non-aggressive, but still don’t want to be kissed by one. I had nightmares about that episode.
Also, the black mamba episode where he grabbed a 10 ft mamba and the thing turned on it’s body and whistles by his head. He dropped it, picked it back up for about 10 secs and let that sucker go again. Said that’s enough for him. That’s the most I’ve seen Steve freaking out.

I was legit sad when Steve died. My old roommate and I watched his shite constantly. We even saw his movie in theaters. One of the only celebrities that I was genuinely sad about when he died. And in such a freak accident too, made it worse somehow.
I know people hate on him, some in this thread even, but that dude had to be one of the most genuine people ever on earth. You could just tell he truly cared about what he was doing and about his causes. Sure, he did shite that we think was stupid sometimes, but it was always with the best intentions IMO.
