A theoretical physicist hasn't created anything practical?
Ya don't say?

I can't ever remember seeing an O-T thread where I've had so much trouble picking out who is trolling.

The hypocrisy and profound ignorance coming from the Poliboard and the hard right in general is simply astounding. What's the difference between "Change" and "Make America Great Again"? Trump uses the same type of argument Barry did, but they're all too stupid to understand this.
I thought we were in trouble, as far as our country's general direction, when Obama won and then won reelection, but Trump winning the nomination without much resistance has confirmed that belief. Call us what you want - moderates, logical, practical - I don't care, but we're losing on both sides of the aisle.
Like George Carlin said - Think about how stupid the average American is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

You didn't get it. At all.

No, when it comes to politics and religion, nobody here is trolling. They are all absolutely sure of their positions.

Thank you representative of the Flat Earth society. Of course the usual OT troglodytes feel threatened by a prominent scientist in his field. Your aversion to science and modernity is noted.

This thread is going to go down as one of the stupidest of the year

How is that relevant? Like at all?
Has to with the word refrain. I would expect Hawking to be above taking cheap shots at people for perceived disabilities considering he has one. He can have an opinion all he wants, but it was presented in poor taste.

I do. She's currently making me a sandwich.
In all seriousness (and unrelated to the discussion), I've always found Hawking to be slightly... sinister.
As for being a trump supporter, my candidate has been gone for a while now. Hopefully he gets the VP nod.

No. What he has done though is support the leftist view that there is no room in the world for belief for a supreme being. Although I'm sure he would make an exception if the case were a wiry haired alien from the star Kryptonize.
Nothing at all wrong with the works that theoretical physicists or other scientist do. My problem is the people that use their works to provide unproven "basis" for their political agendas. Here is a core belief for me.
Science and innovation has provided the means of access and use for nearly everything we enjoy today (both good and bad). Through time there has been a critical balance between science, human endeavors and belief systems. You will see this in any legitimate historical accounts. Things got/get out of kilter and are made to correct imbalance generally in a better condition. Current revisionists history being taught we are losing valuable lessons.
So much of my thought, at an advanced age and deteriorating health, has shown me that much of the theoretical teachings are bringing us to the brink of something that may not be correctable". Avenues for challenging are drying up fast.
Which lead me to my dissertation conclusion, I'm old so carry-on.

What does a robo-nerd like him know about being American? Not a damn thing!! Books!! Science!! Big fricking deal. He should just move into a black hole he isn't welcome here anymore.

Severely punish women who have abortions
This is a sound byte of a question he should've never answered.
The REAL QUESTION he was asked was
"IF ABORTION WAS ILLEGAL do you think a woman should be punished for having one"
Of course if something was illegal you can't not be punished. The news would spin it as Trump doesn't believe in enforcing laws. But he said what he should have said and now we have people like you believing he wants to punish women for having legal abortions.
Things aren't always what they seem. The media agenda against Trump is like none other before. The establishment is incredibly afraid of him.

If you've seen him recently you know that Stephen Hawking can no longer communicate. His "communication" consists of whatever his interpreter wants him to say. It's a sham and a shame.

Awww poor little scientist thinks anyone gives a damn about his politics.
Hooray...yet another thread about politics not posted on the cesspool that is the poliboard...
Honestly...what's the fricking point of having multiple boards if fricking politics are going to be allowed to muck up half of them?

To all of you who are bashing this dude. Just like you dumb fricks, he's allowed his political beliefs.
