i probably would put NC in the Top 5. I really wasnt counting them as Southeast. Sometimes when i say Southeast i mean states that have an SEC team. Cant really do that anymore i guess with Missouri and A&M in the conference.

Sorry bud, you can't be Tier 1 unless you can offer some outdoor winter sports. Skiing (downhill and cross country), snowmobiling, ice skating, ice fishing, etc. To be in Tier 1 you have to bring all around, all season game. The unbearable heat and humidity you have in the South is a negative against you as well.

Arkansas is a bit underrated. Probably not Tier 1, but they've got some good stuff.

It's a much longer season of comfortable camping than Michigan, and has much more dramatic topography.
I think it's fair to call them a draw. Besides, you can camp year round anywhere, really, and I've camped in the mountains of GA, NC and TN in every winter month.

Yeah I definitely did. If you didn't think it was in the south east wtf did you think it was ACC? Were talking geography and shite up in here hoss not pigskin.

i do consider NC in the southeast. i just didnt think about them initially because i was only thinking of states with SEC teams. It happens from time to time when you live in SEC country. Agree.
GA is actually really underrated IMO. Good hunting and fishing, decent beaches, pretty good barrier islands to explore, mountains, mountain streams, large cold water trout fishery that runs all the way to Atlanta.
But NC is better, and Tennessee has a national park and better mountains, so...

I hear you. When I think southeast, I think deep south initially, and NC isn't really deep south.

Georgia is also hotter than hell. I'm sure NC gets hot but the sun leans on you in GA.

North Ga is beautiful (never been South of Columbus) but I spent a summer in Augusta that was the most oppressive heat I've ever felt, and I've spent summers in Kuwait and Iraq.

Agreed. The advantage for GA is that more than most of our other deep south cousins, we get a fuller winter, at least for Atlanta and above. Parts of SC and AL get the same.
I find that to be an advantage, at least. I know plenty of GA residents who would prefer it stay in the 90s year round to avoid any winter whatsoever, which sounds horrific.

i would put louisiana towards the bottom as well. They have some great hunting and fishing, but no mountains, snow, or nice beaches.

Are you inferring that none of the New England states have outdoor activities? If so, you are completely wrong. New work through Maine has a lot of great Hiking and some awesome mountains. The most volatile terrain of the Appalachian Mtns is in the north east.
The deep south, Louisiana in particular, is definitely the bottom tier for outdoor activity. All we have is hunting and fishing, which most all other states have too.
