Lake Martin is great.

She bought the lakehouse the year after I joined the Army and moved away. But my limited time there has been great. Best lake water I've seen in the south.

I'd put Idaho in tier 1 as well (really depends on how many in each tier). Amazing scenery, biking, and hiking. Good water sports in the summer.

Idaho is awesome but I see them as tier 2. No ocean, same with Montana, Utah, CO. Oregon/WA has everything Idaho does but they have the ocean which provides that much more. Eta...imo

Idaho is a little iffy. If you break it into 5 tiers of 10, I'd put Idaho in the back of the first tier/head of the second. Same with Utah. I have a hard time thinking of over 10 states that are better than those two. Course, this is just opinion, and don't mean shite.

That's what I would do. Top states for sure.

In terms of outdoor activities, imo and means nothing , there are some that are better or offer more but not 10 better.

The scenery in Utah is amazing. No coast line subtracts some points. The problem is that while the people are awesome at work or as a neighbor, they suck on Friday night.

I've done the section in your 3rd video. We call it Chairlift, bottleneck being the most well known rapid. It was a great float.
