They locked down a week ago

No real evidence yet that there is any bended curve at all

Italy on Sunday reported 368 new deaths from the coronavirus outbreak as the country's death toll hit 1,809 while the number of positive cases rose to 24,747 from 21,157 on Saturday, the country's civil protection authority said.

It seems reasonable to believe that whatever is happening now would be exponentially worse if nothing had been done.

I’m starting to worry this isn’t actually about a virus.

It’s only been six days.

Incubation is 2-8.

Progression to critical condition (when people would appear at a hospital) is 4-8 days.

So there is a 2-16 day spread.

Remember the long incubation period. Prob take more than a week before you start to see the positive results in the numbers.

I'll look for a graph that visualizes this but it is working. Not all areas locked down at the same time and it has not been evenly enforced. Some areas are showing the flattening that is expected from lock down.

I think we are dealing with a smart virus that is staying one step ahead of us. It will take a year to rid ourselves of this

Many people in Europe live in old, tiny apartment buildings. It seems like a terrible idea to keep people bottled up like this.

The hard core lockdowns in the original hot spots are working. The problem is this thing spread, and just like here, no one takes it seriously until it’s ravaging you.

So no one really gets out in front. Places just keep trying half measures until they have to go full lockdown

Ah, a voice of reason backed by statistics.

Just because they lock down doesn’t mean deaths suddenly stop and everyone is healed. People will continue to get ill and die for a while until we see those numbers level off. Hopefully when they do begin to level off it will be a sharp fall which would show that the lockdown did work. They were just too late on starting it.

Takes more than a week to see the difference.
