I enjoy their lattes and when you're on the road it is a nice consistent experience. A small independent offering is always better than a chain.

Honestly, once or twice at this point. To grab a seasonal latte
Honestly its the same for me. I just drink some shite Kcup coffee in the morning and call it a day.
Been looking into a good espresso machine but it seems like a lot of work.

I go once every few years, but there are so many awesome small local coffee shops/cafes near me that they're always my go to.
Eff Starbucks. Liberals hate big, successful businesses so this should make them very happy.

There are almost always better local places for coffee.

Starbucks executives had previously said that the company would be slowing new openings in favor of remodeling existing locations this year.
Had a new Starbucks being built near my house. Building was nearly completed. Sign was up and everything, then one day there's a for sale sign out front.

You even Nespresso, baw?
You can get a vertuo machine for about $129. Pods are $1-$1.33 a piece.

I've been to Starbucks exactly twice in my lifetime. The first time I asked for a medium cafe au lait with whole milk and was immediately corrected by the doofus behind the counter saying I wanted a "Tall" and I said, "If that's a medium, then that's what I want".
It tasted like the coffee had been sitting on heat in the pot for hours. So, I tried it one more time a few weeks later thinking it was a fluke------it wasn't.
Never been back.

I won’t be afraid to admit it. I like Starbucks. Something nostalgic for me and the iced coffee isn’t the worst thing.
I support the new CEO’s goals, they need to get back to their old ways.

Starbucks confuses the frick out of me. They’ve opened like 4 new stores here in Wichita in the last year or so only to announce they’re closing stores. They remodeled one near me to eliminate dine in space only to announce they’re remodeling stores to encourage people to hang out. Pick what the frick you want to do.
I think their suburban/drive thru stores almost need to be run by a different group or people within the company than the ones in urban area without a drive thru.
They have competing priorities clearly.
That dining space is drawing capacity from drive thru and vice versa. That’s a problem in some locations like in suburban Dallas along a feeder road that’s all drive thru vs a location in a shopping center or a neighborhood with a lot of foot traffic.
Some competitors are damn fast and efficient with drive thru that can’t easily compete with Starbucks in urban areas or in shopping centers. I think Starbucks needs to figure out the right format for each store and forget about trying to balance it. Most of the potential new Starbucks locations in the world are likely going to be in suburban areas with a heavy focus on drive thru.
There are limits to the real estate they can get and the staffing for each store - it’s hard to do both formats really well and some locations lean heavy to one format or the other (drive thru vs in-store) unless they happen to get the perfect spot with a bigger plot of land and a large staff. But generally Starbucks (even the ones with drive thru) take up a lot less space and need less staffing than a Chick Fil A or McDonalds. In theory that means there are more available locations that are compatible with a Starbucks. That should be an advantage if they know how to format the store.
Starbucks is very good with the urban formats where they compete directly with independent stores. In some ways Starbucks created the market and proved that a standalone coffee shop can work and be profitable. But the winds are shifting away from chains and towards indies for that format.

How often do you go to Starbucks?
Once or twice a year. I get the Pistachio latte. From Glukstadt to Florence you can get better coffee at a CC's, PJ's, Mocha Mugs, or the MS original franchise Cups.
When I was in the Navy during the "War on Terrorism" we heard about some Marines that wrote Starbucks asking for a care package because they were fans of Starbucks coffee and couldn't access it while forward deployed. Starbucks corporate declined stating that Starbucks Co. did not support war of any kind.
That was all it took for me to avoid buying their coffee regularly. I really like pistachio lattes though.

Can only charge so much for coffee and cookies versus a $15/hr wage.

they have way too many locations and all those drive thru ones like 7 Brew and Dutch Bros are killing them
Not to mention Chick Fil A is about to roll out a similar concept with coffees and drinks

I was shocked when I was in Chicago a few years ago. There was legitimately a Starbucks on every block around Michigan Avenue.

$167k average per laid off non-retail employee? I get they will have to lay off the retail employees for the 100 or so stores that are closing, but how much severance do $15/hr hourly workers typically receive?

I’ve been to Starbucks probably a half a dozen times.
Sometimes you just need some covfefe and it dont matter if you know it will taste like burnt piss.
