Never understood how some people always get staph. I’ve been blessed, never had it.

I had it on my hip like senior year of high school. It was a giant boil on the right side of my hip. It had bothered me for a few days, but at this point I'm months away from graduation, I just finished 4 years of high school football, so in my mind I'm a man and I don't feel any pain. I can tough it through anything.

Well, one morning, the pain became too unbearable. I woke up crying and begging for my mom like I was 3 again. She took me to urgent care immediately.

When they drained it, I legit had a big hole on my hip. Had a scar for years. If I could never go through that again in life, that would be great.

Try a fresh slice of potato taped over the area and leave it on for a few hours if you can. Will suck out the bad stuff and no side effects. Repeat for a couple of days. Worked on my wife's staph infection boil she had on her knee.

I currently have a good size one on my rib cage area and arm. Hurts like a mf. Second one in as many months. First one i had cleaned out and got antibiotics for but left alot of scar tissue, looked like i had been shot in that area. It's def not something you want to play around with. Been showering with Hibiclyns and putting Mupirocin on it. If it doesn't get better i will be going to the doctor again.

That sounds like one of those old wives/wise tales. Cut a fresh onion, it saps viruses out of the air!

Had a friend of mine whos wife saw a bad place on his butt cheek and she demanded he go to ER.

They put him under and did surgery right in the ER.

Yeah and they got scented Dial now if the traditional yellow kind’s smell bothers someone.

Wash with actual anti-bacterial soap like Dial. I’ve had it from shaving my legs before (no pics) and my doc said just regularly wash with Dial and don’t reuse old razor blades.

I had a cluster of little bumps with a couple single bumps, and they all went away after carefully washing with Dial for a couple of weeks. That was for just the beginning of an infection though, but a good anti-bacterial soap will help prevent future breakouts.

Now I don’t even use shave gel, I just lather up with lavender Dial and shave my legs with it.

YouTube Derm PA says staph infections are very painful. At times he treats them by lancing with a #11 blade after anesthesia. But with a bad staph infection he can't numb the base of the abscess. Doesn't work. So your problem seems consistent with what he posts. You oughta watch that stuff on YouTube.

Had the exact same thing happen to me in 06. I was finishing up some base and shoe molding at a friends house that was damaged by Katrina.

On my knees all day nailing in the molding and noticed a sharp pain in my right knee. Got home, took a shower and broke out the tweezers to remove an ingrown hair that was the culprit.

Three days later my knee is swelling badly, 2 more days later and I'm purple, yellow, brown from damn near mid thigh to ankle.

Spent a week in West Jeff. Hospital after they opened up my knee to drain it and had 2 rubber tubes draining the wound the entire time while Vancomysin was being IV'd into my veins 24/7.

Staph is nothing to be played around with. Get on it early and stick with the meds until it's gone.

When your flesh is quite literally rotting off the bone, it causes a little bit of pain.

Had MRSA a while back that I just couldn’t get rid of. Wound up having to see an infectious disease specialist. Had sores pop up in strange places like my nose, finger, and the area between my thigh and arse. That shite was painful—especially when I was picking at the “pimples” before I knew what they really were.
